a very happy birthday!
Today was our birthday party debut at The Little Bits Workshop. All the girls made and dressed a doll of themselves and put them into shadowbox gardens. I was so proud of them. They stayed focused and determined to complete their projects. Courtney gets the prize for perfection. What a blast!
flying high!!
At the beginning of the week, I was so bummed out that only 2 students had signed up for the workshop today…should I reschedule? No, I’d do it anyway. Then the local paper contacted me about coming to do an interview and photo shoot. That was a spirit-lifter. Today’s workshop had not 2, but 8 [...]
101 projects
35 down and 65 to go. I’m working on a visual menu of project offerings. I feel like Julie in the movie about Julia Childs, trying to cook through 365 recipies. No deadline though…that’s too much presssure.
Yesterday Paul was out of town and my mom was watching the kids….so I escaped to the workshop to [...]
the little bits workshop is open!!!!
At 9am this morning everything was quiet, the coffee was brewing, the cookies were on the table, the balloons were flapping in the breeze outside and I had no idea what to expect. By 10am, everything was buzzing and it didn’t stop until about 5pm this evening! What a day! Almost everybody made something and [...]
waking up!
For the past few days I’ve been going to bed waaay too late and waking up waaay too early. This morning I woke up figuring it must be about 5am. I reached for my glasses and was bummed out that it was only 3am…head spinning, I went back to sleep… I’m very excited about Monday’s [...]
my grandpa
On December 27, my mom called to say that Grandpa slipped away. We said goodbye on January 2nd and celebrated his life. It was very hard to let go. This was his obituary which ran in his local paper. He was a good man and I miss him very much:
Harold Hunsicker spent hours in retirement [...]
so thankful
I’ve been so preoccupied by this workshop and getting ready for classes, that I nearly forgot how wonderful Thanksgiving Day was. Above are my four sous chefs who helped me chop, chop, chop in preparation for Thanksgiving. From the left is Thayene the business major from Brazil, Gabriella the lawyer/model from Brazil, Nathan, me, Seda [...]
a dream is brewing
To all my creative friends out there…we need to chat. When you get an idea and make the time to make it a reality…whether it’s a painting, a book, a quilt, a cake, a banner, or a magazine…how does it feel to hold it in your hand? Good? That’s what I thought. It’s a rush [...]
spaces
In the aftermath of our Ultimate Downsizing Adventure, I find myself very restless…itching to create, make a mess, do something crazy, impulsive, daring…. My space to create in is almost non-existant. I don’t want to complain, but at the same time, I desperately miss having my own office. This move and transition was the absolute [...]
applicious!
These photos probably don’t need much explanation…we picked, we tasted and it was a blast…our little trip around the lake to Michigan. Paul rode 62 miles in the Apple Cider Century, but I made sure the kids had a few fun things to do too. While Paul rode, we went to Warren Dunes and wouldn’t [...]
