These photos probably don’t need much explanation…we picked, we tasted and it was a blast…our little trip around the lake to Michigan. Paul rode 62 miles in the Apple Cider Century, but I made sure the kids had a few fun things to do too. While Paul rode, we went to Warren Dunes and wouldn’t ya know it, my batteries died and I have no photo to prove that Miika climbed the highest dune…Big Bear I think it’s called. Nathan was afraid to climb, so I carried him up!!!!!! Miika got to the top first, then came 1/3 down to sit with Nathan while I went the rest of the way. What a view, what a moment, what a day.

This little artist’s cottage is on the market and severely tempted us to dive head first into another mortgage…then we came home to clear our heads. But there’s something to be said about standing in the shady, scruffy yard of a country cottage and hearing nothing but the breeze in the trees. How can we package that and bring it home? My mind is spinning with this question. In my get-away research I discovered a place in Indiana called Tryon Farm where a diverse natural setting has little homes nestled into the landscape in such a way so as not to disturb it. It’s communal and utopian in nature, but I’m intrigued enough to go check it out…next trip.
