All of our students were very happy to see Nathan home again. He’s back to his regular charming self and the center of attention. As we were being discharged from the hospital, the doctor diagnosed Nathan with Epstein-Barr, the virus that causes mono. Now, three weeks later, nearly all of the symptoms are gone. What an ordeal!!!
Last week many of our favorite students went back to their countries or on to American universities, so we had a farewell party. Nathan wiggled his way into many of their hearts so they all wanted a picture with him. He’s our little ambassador. The students above represent Turkey, China, France, Saudi Arabia and Ecuador. It’s hard to see them go.
This past weekend was our first family getaway in a year as we celebrated my cousin Lisa’s wedding in Ohio. Miika was so thrilled to meet her very own cousin who was here from Zambia…Ada. My cousin Julie (above) serves with Catholic Charities in Zambia and fell in love with a Nigerian named Philip. Miika and their daughter Ada were as thick as thieves all weekend….a time that we’ll never forget.
