Home >> bright light!

For the past several weeks I’ve felt like a mole digging my way to China. The roller coaster ride of trying to sell the house and waiting for a real deal has been a trip! Not knowing what’s ahead and not being able to plan beyond each day has been very hard.
But…this week everything has changed. We have a contract on the house and I believe some very good buyers who will appreciate our home and all that we’ve done in the past eight years. It’s been my prayer that good people would find their way to Natchez Street to mix and mingle with our community that we love. The miracle is that a school teacher and an artist are buying our home. I couldn’t be happier about that. The details will not be lost on someone who doesn’t “get it.” Now I feel like I can let it go into good hands.
I feel the creative juices flowing. I’m itching to create something. I feel like running around the block, jumping, anything to release all the pent up nervous energy that has made my head go to sleep.
Two days ago Miika and I stopped in to the Gallery Etcetera in Forest Park after her swimming lessons. I love this shop. It always makes my head spin with ideas…baskets made of buttons, serving plates with collages under the surface, great handmade journals, beaded bowls and the centerpiece of the shop is owner Jeanine A. Guncheon’s painted furniture. It’s one of those places you have to walk through at least 3 times because there is so much to see….all inspiring! Makes me want to gather all my bits and bops together and start making stuff.
Time to dump out the button jars, get out the paints and glue and start something to celebrate the light at the end of the tunnel.
