    April 21, 2008

My step-mother, Cyndy Felt-Tiitto stepped into the forever-sunshine of Heaven this morning. She was generous. She was kind. She was smart. She listened. She never missed our birthdays. Even when she could hardly get out of bed these past months, she called to apologize that Miika’s birthday check would be late. I will miss her. I can’t help but wonder how it is when one steps across the divide. Is there an orientation meeting? Do they get to go straight to Jesus? Does an Angel take your coat and ask you to have a seat? Does the light dim a bit so your eyes can adjust to the new surroundings? I wish I could just have a quick postcard to say that everything will be OK…Oh, Cyndy, I hope you are running and dancing with your new pain-free body. I hope the flowers and the colors dazzle your soul. But most importantly, I do know that you must be meeting our Redeemer. And you are at peace beyond our wildest imagination. In my heart of hearts, I know that you are asking Jesus to please let us know that we should not be sad, just patient. Still, for the time between now and then, I will miss you.
