Hot tea, 2 shirts and a sweater, long “janes” and jeans, fuzzy socks, and the battle still rages to keep warm. Heat’s on, but it’s an old drafty house…you can almost see the dollars floating like ghosties out the windows. Ah, but I do love winter nonetheless. No weeding, happy fireplace, the covers feel great, and spring is all the sweeter when it finally arrives.
Miika is playing at the neighbor’s house, Nathan is napping, and I’m scrambling to finish three projects. It’s a good day. Nothing quite as sweet as wrapping up projects and billing them. It makes the chocolate taste better and to borrow a line from Will Smith’s movie, The Pursuit of Happyness, “one more day of oxygen” which he said when he received his first paycheck. Freelancing is like that…I never really know what’s next, but hope there will be something to do to pay the bills. A risky business with a lot of freedom which makes it worth every minute.
