The tapestry of the work-at-home-life is a colorful picture of time and efforts all jumbled together in a very disorderly fashion….chaos actually. Laundry + glue & paint + dishes + therapy + grocery shopping + make a newsletter + change a diaper + bill the clients + design a brochure + feed the little birds who eat every 15 minutes, more dishes, make messes to clean messes….just another day, fall asleep with laundry in my lap, wake up and do it all again. And if Nathan drags one more thing down off a table I think I’ll loose my mind…little Mr-get-into-everything…oh, I need another cup of coffee…up til midnight, awake at 5:30, day after day after day…that’s this life.

As I look at the mess that he’s into, I tell myself, maybe this mess will keep him from making the next one for at least 15 minutes, so I let him have his mess…but he’s eating the green tissue paper…not a good idea. My office is full of boxes of bits, treasures for the next project…a treasure trove for a two-year-old pirate… the work will get done eventually … another hour after dark.
